Default 15/16" vs 1" Master Cyclinder

I have a 94 Civic DX with GSR suspension. I know that if I go with a 15/16" from a 91 Civic EX or 94 Integra RS, there would be no modificaitons, just simple bolt on..But I am curious if I go with the 1". How much of a difference would I feel with my Power Slot rotors and what kind of mods would I need to do for a 1".

integra 1" you will need the integra booster. and depending on what year m/c you will have bend the front brake line, or you will have a 12mm side brake line you will have to reflare. but you will have to look at the m/c to see what you will have to change... i got a m/c from a 99 integra ls with abs and i only had to bend the front brake line.

i have gone from 13/16 to 15/16 and to 1" all with gsr brakes all around. 1" is night and day compared to the other two.

oh and dont let anyone tell you the itr m/c and booster is better. all 98+ integra (all trims) with abs systems are all the same 1". some fools like to advertise " itr m/c brake booster" like its different then the lower model 98+ integras.

with the 15/16 off a 91 EX, it will bolt in. with the RS 15/16, you need the integ booster too.

did u go from 15/16 with civic booster to 1" with teg booster? was the difference THAT much? i have a 15/16 with civic booster and brake is pretty good. i can really lock 'em up if i get on 'em really hard.

yes i had civic m/c and booster with the 13/16 and 15/16 m/c's with gsr full brake swap. i could stop pretty good. but i went to 1"mc and integra booster when i had a good deal. and i must say if i know what the brakes were on the 1" set up i never would have wasted my time and money on the 15/16. the 1" gives you better modulation as you brake. i know some will say no it doesnt. im not here to argue with them. all i know i would never go back to 15/16 setup... and this better feel is most likely due to the bigger booster and being able to push through more pressure to the calipers...

Is the 91 Civic EX/94 Integra RS MC 15/16"? Or isn't the 15/16" from like GS-R's? Because I know the GS-R has a larger piston than the LS's.

Anyway, where is a good place to find the 1" MC/booster combo? I've tried the junkyards already and no luck.

When we say bend the brake lines we mean the hard lines in the engine bay. The position that the lines exit the MC on the ITR MC is different from the way they enter your MC. You can however get some custom braided brake lines made so that you don't have to bend those lines, you can just replace them.

well dude I did my rear disc conv on my ek hb and I used the 00 civic si prop valve and the MC and now my breaks rocks nice!!
I know that if I put the ITR MC which is 1' would be alot better , but for right now they are nice I am planning to do the ITR MC later on to see if it really makes some difference!!

Check http://www.goodridge.net , they have a list of places that make custom lines in every state.

Anybody know if there is an advantage of using a 7/8 MC over a 15/16?

I think you would be at a disadvantage. The 7/8 is .875" and the 15/16 is .97" something. So the 15/16 would be better than the 7/8.

Coming from the dealership, the EK's prop valve have the same part # of the 99/00 Si's prop valve. On my buddy's EK, we didn't even change the booster/MC for his 5-lug conversion. Although, I would have recommended changin' at least the MC and the booster, had he gotten the 1" MC.
