Default B20 swap in a 89 Si CRX having problems

I swapped a 99 B20Z into my 89 si crx used all LS Integra parts i.e.. Wiring harness, distributor, alternator, ECU etc. ... well the motor has a looping idle it starts and runs fine for about five mins no error codes or anything then the idle starts jumping 2500rpm back to 1500rpm. I have checked for all vacuum leaks and and cant find anything wrong there. any suggestions

Is it thowring any codes, if so check em out. Also, make sure that your timming is on, (cam). ect. Check to make sure that you dont have any bubbles in your coolant, Ive herd of some weird stuff happening to engines when there is air in the coolant system. Double check your engine ground and thermostat ground... What OBD are you running?

PM7? Isnt that an auto ECU or for a SOHC? The ECU that you need to run is the 90-91 PR4 ECU.... Thats what you need to be running,

check post about the FITV

you more than likely need to screw it all the way in or adjust it.

Yes you will need obd-0 injectors. But I have of running obd1 with the resistor box in.

IACV could be clogged or partially anyways.

No, he won't. He can use 92 injectors, as long as the resistor box is out... I'm running OBD-O b16 injectors with an OBD-I ECU.

My first guess would be a vacume leak.

Have you checked it with the throttle cable removed?

Wes

its a fast idle problem, either timing is off or wiring is incorrect. set timing again (make sure its set at the 3 dots and not the one dot on crank pulley) and set idle at 900 when car is warm, it should go away after a few min, if not, then check your idel air controller

you dont have cams or cam gears do you?, and is the cel on? it has to be on if its fast idleing. sometimes i noticed if everything is right, it just takes time, then it goes away. this is if you make sure the timing is right

sometimes you can't see vaccum leaks. a trick that was shown to me by an old car guy is to buy a can of starting fluid and spray it on different parts of the engine where vaccum leaks could be. if theres no leak in that area, nothing will happen, but if there is a leak, it will pull the starting fluid in and the engine will rev up. this helps determine if and where a leak is.

Yes I have heard of that before I believe I also heard of Carb cleaner. Cause if there is a leak you will hear it suck it in.

Ok well after several long hours spent reading both an integra manual and a CR-V manual it turned out to be the FITV valve after all. Turns out that the automatic CR-Vs didn't use the FITV which my block came from an auto CR-V and it did not have the port in the water neck for the second hose coming off the FITV to train back into the block so it was just staying wide open after it warmed up and that caused the surging idle. So i T'ed off the IAC return hose that runs behind the motor and presto the problem is solved. God #@% Fitv valves thanks guys for your suggestions. Now if my header would hurry up and come in so i can finish the exhaust system id be ok
