Default throttle body?

I am new to the idea of changing out the throttle body for a bigger one...(saw ad for skunk2 in sponsors section).

With my current mods...is it worth it to do this? If so what are the tuning changes that I would need to do (regarding the computer or fuel control)? Or is it strictly a bolt-on mod that should give me power gains immediately?

sorry for the noob questions, I haven't been modifying cars too long.

well, a throttle body is really only needed for added air flow if u have a skunk 2, jg, or a new intake mani with a bigger diameter for air flow. if u have a jg x mani for instance, it is 65mm, so u would want to match that with a 65mm throttle body. TB's really dont give any gains, and going bigger isnt better because then the air flow will be larger in the TB than the intake mani and intake tube, so air is trapped so to speak. with all bolt ons, tuning is advised, because everything u put on that isnt stock, u r changing your a/f ratios that are set to stock on your ecu. hope that helps!

true, u arent going to get any gains with what u have... u should wait to get a tb when u have more mods where it would allow u to gain so more ponies with it...

ok, just planning for the future, where to direct funds, etc.

at what point will the tb be "worth it?"

wrong!!!! y would u want to go from a 2.5 inch intake tube, which is roughly 65mm, to a 70mm throttle body, then back to a 65mm or 62mm intake manifold? answer that one for me. it is pretty plain to see that the air is gonna be trapped in between and that is pointless...
