Is the LS alright?
I was looking a a couple gsr's to buy, but those didnt work out. I was wondering, what kind of power you can make with the ls engine? With turbo (ofcourse i know i will need to build it up some). Is it possible to get 350hp? Is a ls/vtec head swap good to do if i go turbo?
I tried searching, but i was having a hard timing finding exactly what to search for. Im sorry if this topic has been covered before. If it has, just throw me a link.
Thanks

dude, just save up some money, buy a reliable gsr motor thats already vtec and then turbo the **** out of it. much more reliable than a ls/vtec/turbo

Think about it this way. GSR will make more power than an LS even if it has the same turbo kit. I've heard of people saying that 300hp on stock internals is as far as they would go on a GSR. For 350hp, you need to look into internal upgrades if you're going for daily driven reliability. You definitely need to get a thicker headgasket (among other things), since GSR's have higher compression than LS motors. LS/VTEC is a different story. There is so much I could tell you but it's already been said many times in the Forced Induction forum that you could easily search for your answer. Remember, it's ALL about proper tuning and fuel management.

the ls can be a monster if you build it properly, and look at the tq curve, its flat for a damn long time compared to stock ls motors
port the head, crower cams/valvetrain, cam gears tuned to reduce overlap, and an aftermarket/b16/type r intake manifold and the ls will be incredible. if you play your cards right you can get a head like this for a reasonable price too
