im thinking about going ls vtec but on the other hand i want a turbo. should i just do a ls vtec and then put a turbo on? my cousins said a ls turbo is much stronger than a ls vtec turbo, which would you prefer?

tought to say which would be more powerful (between which turbo engine) They both have the opportunity to make alot of power. Its up to you. LS turbo seems easier and a cheaper way to make the power.

everyone has there opions but like the man said its up to you. however i was really happy with my car running 12's with the ls/vtec turbo

That setup sounds like it would need A LOT of dyno time to get tuned right.

Who needs vtec with a turbo set-up!

It is much easier to tune a non-vtec turbo motor. Most of the really high hp turbo setups disable their vtec if they are running a vtec motor. It just makes it near impossible to get it tuned right. It is pretty easier to tune an ls turbo, and you can still make gobs of power. By being easier to tune, I would say an ls turbo is more reliable.

LS vtec turbo would probably make more power. It flows better and you'll probably rev it higher, so that just makes sense. It will also be less reliable/ durable, as the bottom end was not designed to rev higher and flow better. Basically, the further you go from OEM then the less durable your setup will probably be.

i just got a afc hack with a gsr computer (untouched) the tuning is not as bad as you think it would be.
