As title says.....

I was wondering, if there is any advantage to changing my red/positive battery cables? You know, like you do your grounds.

Would thicker cables do me good? or bad?

unless you have a large stereo system or something that draws a lot of power then no it won't do anything

 

Nothing wrong with wire-brushing those bad boys, though, and get the battery terminal shiny too.

 

clean the termal up is not and issue i upgraded my power wire when i did my battery relocation the power to the fuse box i upgraded to 8 gauge and from the alt to fuse box i upgraded it to 4 gauge. the wire to the trunk is 0 gauge. and the ground is 0 gauge to the trunk ,i grounded to the block and head then to the trunk for better ground the alt is also tapped into that ground wire .

 

It's never a bad thing to replace "up to" 20 year old wires. I know I did. Did I notice a difference? Not really, but will I have to replace them for another 20-30 years......NO WAY!!! And yeah, I upgraded to a larger gauge wire and added a couple of block grounds.
