were to buy rings and berings
.well we finaly got my project rexs b16 in but it burns oil like a **** (i bought off a dumbass who just screwed his car up) so i need to find some good rings and ill replace the rod bearings and hone the cylinders , were should i look to get some ok rings and berings ?
don't just do rings and bearings. Have it bored .25 or .50mm get a set of OE or aftermarket pistons. Boreing it will make the cylinders true and will ensure a proper seal for the rings. also make sure you have the head recondtioned.
Go to your local honda dealer to buy the pistons and rings. The bearings you will need the #s and letters from the crank, rods and block so the dealer can figure out what color bearings. you can buy aftermarket bearings like ACL's or clevite but if you can use Honda bearings i would highly reccomend it. IM Earl he is usually in the Drag racing forum he can get you the ACL's and aftermarket pistons and rings, if thats what you want.

i would like that but i dont have the cash for pistons ans rods i would just like to get it runing right and then next year ill have the money to break it down and do allmotor
Changing the rings might or might not correct the problem.
Do like 86Si is telling you and get the blocked checked first.
See if the cylinders are good or if they need to be bored and honed.
If they are good then you can get away with just rings.
If not, then you will be saving yourself a LOT of time by just getting it bored and honed like you need.
Why 'hope' that it works? Just check it and make sure.
OE pistons will cost you around $200.
Well... atleast that's what they cost me for a set of oversized Y8 pistons.
The rings you should get from Honda, but you can also find some 'one size fits all' cheapo ones.
Again, OE will set you back about $200. Generics are about $50.
To order the right sizes you need to tear down the block and do some measuring along with plastigage.
Then you can order the bearings accordingly.
