got my new jdm b18c engine in...problems...please help
so im on the next part of my ordeal of replacing my burned out b16 with a b18 in my 2000 civic si.....the engine is a 94 jdm b18c...not type r......I bought this engine from jason buckner btw if any of you know him....so I paid extra and got a uncut wiring harness and ecu and all so it would be a easy install, b/c the shop is charging me for any extra wiring.....got a call today from the shop foreman and he said there were problems with teh engine when it came in...he said that the wires were cut and it cant plugin to my car components.......he didnt really know what he was talking about...and said there would need to be custom wiring or something to get it to work.....so what is the engine missing for it to be able to hook into my 00 si? Thanks sorry for the stupdity...this situation sucks I just want to get my car going again...thanks!
Yeah if its a '94 engine it should be OBD1 and your 2000 civic is OBD2 so you would need a conversion harness, not exactly "custom wiring" tho sounds like the shop is out to ghetto rig some half *** wiring and charge you way too much, look into getting a conversion harness

Conversion harness alone won't solve your problem. Its simple. You have an OBD-1 engine you are putting into an OBD-2 car. The injectors, distributor and shock tower plugs are all different. The simple thing to do would be to take the injectors off the Si intake manifold, remove the distributor off the B16, put that crap on the B18, and also use the Si wiring harness and relocate the intake temp sensor.

so does this mean custom wiring, even if I have a uncut b18 wiring harness, and the conversion harness....thanks!
