Default OBX Stage 1 cams

Has anyone used or know of anyone who has these cams? What is the quality like?

These stage 1 cams have the same duration as Skunk Stg 1:

Int-252 dur. / 11.5mm lift
Exh-249 dur. / 10.8mm lift

but are a lot cheaper! Are they engineered well?

OBX CAMS ARE THE WORST CAMS EVER MADE. I BOUGHT A SET OF STAGE III AND THE MATERIAL TENDS TO WEAR OUT ON ALL VTEC LOBES. I HAVE COMPLAINT TO THEM AND THEY GAVE ME THE RUN AROUND SO I GOT STUCK WITH THEM. IT WAS NOT A INSTALLATION DEFECT THAT LED THEM WEAR LIKE THE WAY THEY DID NOR WAS LACK OF OIL OR ANYTHING, THE MATERIAL SUCKSSSSSSSSSS DONT RECOMEND THEM AT ALL. TALKING FROM EXPERIENCE DONT BUY THOSE JUNKY CAMS

Theoreticallly it would still be cheaper to buy the OBX cams and cryo-treat them than it would be to buy most other cams. This should virtually eliminate the cam wear and reduce the risk of breakage later in their life.

cryo treating the cams won't help....the cams are probably steel cams, and are incompatible with the hardened steel radius pads

I have seen First hand these cams destroy the rockers. The cams are made of billet steel and the material is too hard for the rockers.

Cams for Honda's should be chill casted like Blox, Crower, Skunk, Comp, Toda, Buddy club, ect.......

We had a customer bring these cams in for an install. We asked him if he was sure he wanted to use them, and he was pretty sure and we could not really talk him out of it. We did valves, valve springs, retainers, and the cams. After the install we had him drive 1000 miles and bring it in for a valve adjustment........upon inspection of the cam for the valve adjustment we found that the cams were worn and the rockers were cracking.

The customer called OBX and got the run around......and still getting the run around.

So far my take on OBX from my experience.....the LSD they have seems to work well so far, but the cams are something everyone should stay away from.

Just my input from my experience with them.
