Default Quiet Exhausts..

I'm getting a b16 installed next month, and I know the gears are short, so freeway rpm's are really high. I was wondering what types of exhausts out there are quiet, other than stock. I have a borla on my car right now (came with it) and its kinda loud, and rusting..Any help?

what about a custom ITR exhaust? from what i've heard it's not too noisy, but it'll give good flow.

i have thermal r&d classic mid pipe which has a resonator with axle back fart can out the passenger side. it's loud at wot but long trips partial throttle it's actually quiet and thats with a test pipe and 4-1 2.5" collector.

right now i'm making an axle back system to replace fart can 2.5" inlet DUAL 2.25" out DUAL 2" HKS style tips. total of 4 2 on each size. hmm should be quieter than setup now by far.

Do custom..

4-2-1 header..
2 1/4" piping..
2 18" resonators..
High flow catylist..
Chambered muffler..

That's very quiet and will be deep and bassy..

Thermal R&D as said above is kinda quiet on partial throttle, but at WOT you can hear it FAR away.

Also if you contact Thermal you can have a Stealth Conversion kit installed inside of the canister for free. it drops the DBs down by 5+dbs

i had it installed on mine and its great.

My Tenzo SS exhaust is relatively quiet. It has a nice low rumble at lower RPM's. It is a little buzzy at highway speeds. Definitely not a fart can. The price is right too, $195 from Manchester Honda (muffler only). My only real complaint is it's stupid 3" tip sticks out past the bumper (nothing that 2 minutes with a reciprocating saw won't fix...).

i never heard a crx/civic with stock layout of muffler system.. meaning muffler under spare wheel and and piping coming out driver size like stock. EVER SOUND deep. I have always heard them sound tinny and ricey.

why fart can out passenger side is loud and deep not tinny or ricey sounding maybe looking.

i have the greddy sp2. i think that it's pretty quiet.
but if your rpms are high, then you're still going to hear
alot of engine noise. kinda like what i did. i drove on the
freeway in 4th gear at 60-65mph. i heard more of the
engine (d16a6) than the exhaust...but thats just me.

I have custom kit....2 1/4 piping. mendrel bent, High flow cat, 17" res, Magnaflow muffler with 2 1/4" tip.....The sound curve is really nice....Up in the high mph/rpm it just kinda dropps off into this nice humm. But at low rpms it has been quoted as, "Sounds like your car grew some ***** dude." -Broseph Charlie.
