I just got a 2001 civic ex with the 1.7L v-tec, and i dont really know what mods to do. i was told that there were many parts for the engine that could basicaly make it a b16 but i dont know. any suggestions for good mods?

 

well first off it will never become a b16. And second the real question you should ask yourself is what am i going to do with the car? As far as basics, you could always just get intake, wxhuast, and a header, unless you plan on going turbo. Suspension work is always good as well.

Are you looking for big power gains, or just a few mods to open up the airways? If money is tight, start w/ basic mods as he said above. If money isn't an issue, put down the dough for a swap

 

I'm new to this, what is wrong with the 2001 VTECH in the 2001 EX. What is the difference between that and the B16? What is the 2001 VTECH engine Code?

B16 is a twin cam in the 01 ex its a single.

 

you have a D17A2...no where near a B16...except for the fact they are both made by honda and have vtec

 

I looking at getting a new Civic would you go with a LX or EX?
