Default B20 rod ratios

OK, I have been hearing that when some people do a B20VTEC that they change out the CRV crank for a B17 crank...I know it will work but don't you lose torque(the whole reason to go B20) with the shorter stroke???

1.54:1 Normally.

Noone does the B17a Crank.

The 1.8L with a 1.7x R|S Ratio is nice, but you loose yer torque. I dont know of anyone whos built it like that. You can turn ~9000rpm with the 1.54:1 with a fully built setup (Rods, Girdle, Balancing, Etc...) So the B17a Crank isnt really needed.
Rpm breaks things anyways. Also, there are All-Motor Teams like Ericks Racing that are turning 10-11k rpm with a 1.58:1 Ratio GSr and **** like that...and the B18C5 turns a 8700 Redline with 1.58:1, so its not really a big deal. If you gonna put a **** ton of Boost into it all the time, then youll achieve greater reliability with the B17a Crank. Its not that big of Deal. Just a 1.8L B16a

In addition to that you will have a hell of a time finding one...
