I bought a used GE block and instead of the normal 5 letter code for the main bearnings it is stamped with the word STAY? WTF? Any know what this means?

 

You can always call golden eagle and ask them!

I did and they have never seen this

 

just measure your clearances manually and get the correct bearings it going ot be little difficult but thats what you have to do if the code is not there as a starting point. Do you know if the block has been line honed as well

 

i am not sure if it was line bored. but i guess i will get some plastigauge and get started.

 

any one use clevite bearings?

 

precision engine used coated clevite bearings in a 1000 hp b series build. Worked fine

 

use oem bearings
