I am trying to identify a turbo that was removed from a late 80's or very early 90's Volvo I believe. It is an oil AiResearch non ball bearing turbo with internal wastegate. Can someone tell me what this turbo is likely to be? I'm thinking it is a T3 but I don't know how to know for sure. Thanks for any help.

It is probably either a T-25 or a T-03B. The pre '87 Volvos (240,740,760) used the T-03B, and most of the '90 and later Volvos (740,760,940) used the T-25. Between '88 and '90 Volvo used different variations of the Mitsubishi turbo. HTH

 

I believe it is a T3, but the flange for the exhaust manifold to exhaust housing is slightly different if I remember right.

ah ah last time i checked t-25 and t-3 were Garret.
