we just put a ZC motor in a dx hatch, wired from dpfi to mpfi, all that is right, but when we start it up its sounds like its on two cylenders. we check time with a timing light/gun. the thing is that the the light on the gun wasnt stay constent, like that dizzy was firing funny. do you think it could be the ICM in the dizzy.

Explain the firing a little more, how was it firing funny ? Its either the distributor, spark plug wires, cap or rotor.

Sounds like the rotor to me too.
Either that or something else going bad in the distributor.
What CEL codes are you throwing?

checked rotor, nothing wrong with it i think that the coil is bad. cause now we cant get any spark. if any one know somebody gettin that has an obd 0 si or zc dizzy they want to get rid of let me know

The rotor and pickup for #1 only meet up once per rotor rotaton</TD></TR></TABLE>
Hmm... could be junk plug wires.
Maybe they are leaking spark causing mad misfire.

My car sputters on deceleration and also sounds like it's running on 2 cylinders. Checked ignitor, plugs, wires, rotor, cap, injectors, everything....The only thing I found was a bad ignition coil. The primary winding resistance was out of spec.

My timing light did the same thing. The light would drop out for about 1 sec every 5-10 seconds at idle. The pauses were longer as rpm dropped after i revved the motor.

I think the coil wasn't putting out enough voltage so the inductive pick-up on the #1 wire didn't register. It's like the coil would drop out (flashes stop) and when it had enough voltage it would speed up.

Find a helms and test your coil.
Good luck
