Default synchro mesh, will it fix the ol' honda grind? what kinda gear oil to use?

going to change oil on si tranny, not sure how many miles are on it, but it grinds pretty bad and i dont speed shift that often. also has trouble going into some gears sometimes.

I have heard that synchro mesh additive works good for the sync's, any tried??

thanks.

oh and what kind of gear oil should i use???

on my ranger, if you dont use the correct gear oil, which is actually ATF, the tranny will break down. I found this out the hard way lol. just want to double check for the honda.

thanks.

but did anyone experience the grinding going away?

i realize i need a new tranny soon anyways but just a quick fix til i get money. i want a ls tranny for the longer gears for highway use and boost abuse.

thanks.

On my old crx dx tranny I had a grind when going into 2nd gear.. I changed the tranny fluid to GM syncromesh friction modified and it worked great and never ground again..

****, my car would hardly ever go into 1st gear at stop lights. Peope honked their asses off at me when it wouldn't work. Put in synchromesh, problem gone. Shifts are smoother.
