Down and out
about a month ago my 1993 civic dx 4 door blew up. i bought the car for a thousand dollars with a 163,000 miles on a recently rebuilt top end, so i figured it would be straight because he had all the paper work proving that it was a legit rebuild and i thought that since he was older he probably didnt get on it at all or dog the engine. so i got the car and started with the basic bolt ons, cold air intake, dc header, plug wires, polished the valve cover myself and cleaned up the engine bay, skunk2 muffler, swapped the stock seats with 92 crx si seats that were mint, momo steering wheel whitch i had to fabricate a adapter for because they dont make them for cars with air bags. saved up and put skunk2 coilovers, and a set of 17' enkei a and l racing tuner series rims, which were clean as ****!!! drifter front body kit etc......
anyway, i never really was too hard on the little sohc because it was my only way to work, i was aiming mostly for looks. after about 5 months of daily driving and about 12,000 miles, it started making this crazy *** vibration on the way to work and i noticed a huge loss in power. so i got to work, parked it and stressed it all day. i went back in the evening started it up and the vibration was worse so i pressed on determined to at least make it home. about ten minutes into it the far left piston closest to the driver side(no idea what number it is?) blew a hole in the block the size of a softball! needless to say i was pissed, i didnt know if it was faulty parts in the rebuild or what. the worst part of the whole situation was that i had just got the car looking pretty good, it had a mean stance thanks to the skunk2 coil overs and the rims really set it off.
any ideas on what could of caused this, not looking for pitty, just sharing a storie
AND TO MAKE MATTERS EVEN WORSE I HAD TO GET A RIDE HOME IN A MUSTANG!!!!I FELT LIKE CRIYNG!!!

LMFAO
Anyway just because the top end has been rebuilt, that doesn't make for a solid motor. So quit yer bitchin' and just go spend the $200-$300 for another SOHC.
