I just picked up a 1992 EG cx..... I need to replace the motor....I was thinking of getting the d15b sohc vtec.I had some Q's. has any1 smoged the motor? did you have any problems?do I have to go to the ref? is it even worth it? should I get the complete swap with tranny or is the cx tranny make a big enough difference?I just bought this for a spare car,i got a b16 ef and a lifted 2004 4runner.
you should be fine with smog i think i dont live in CA but i would assume so, definitely get a shorter geared tranny such as a z6 or y8 it will make a huge difference

From what I have read on here, some folks get that engine smogged with zero problems, other couldn't get them smogged if their lives depended on it. It seems to be hit or miss in Cali.
