Question?? B18C1 with ctr pistons
I have to rebuild my b18c1. Was plannning to add some ctr pistions. I saw a Dyno for a gsr with ctr cams made 25 extra whp. Wasnt sure if that could run on pump gas fine or will not be a smart move. The pistons are like 200 with rings. I need feedback please?
There is a sticky on the All motor forum about this,

and from what I have read, I think the CTR's are a little high (~12.9:1) in a GS-R for street duty. They work reasonablly well in a B16, or even a B18 with a B16/ITR head, but the 42cc, GS-R head just sends the CR too high...
Some people have had some luck with them, but others aren't so lucky... and tuning is a must to prevent detonation...
Personally, I'm going for the JDM ITR's which should yield ~11.5:1 in a GS-R.

I ran them in my gsr hatch on 93 pump for 6months (traded the shortblock for a stock one and 200 to build a turbo motor). I would recommend them.
