i searched and could not find any relevant info. i got an autometer oil pressure gauge for cheap and i'm loking to hook it up but i am a little weary about t-ing off the block because i've heard that it will break off and cause damage. what are other options for this install? any help will be greatly appreciated

Uncorrect my friend, I am proof that it does break off, it happened to me and it was hooked up correctly. And it is a major pain in the *** to remove depending on where it breaks.

I have the relocation kit that allows you to use both the autometer gauge as well as the factory one.
I'll try and dig up a pic.

Edelbrock makes a sandwhich adapter also that goes between your filter and your block there are pre made holes that are the right size for the fitting that comes with your guage also. I bought one for the guage and also to have an oil feed for my turbo. It is safer than going off the back of your block and does not require you to relocate your filter.

I can take pics if you want but I got it from Speedway motors here in Lincoln

I did'nt have to relocate my filter..........look at the pic. Does the Edelbrock allow you to still use your stock oil pressure gauge. Just in case the Autometer gauge went out and did'nt work at least you have reassurance that the stock one is still there.
