Default is this how your suppose to do it?

bleeding radiator-

filled the radiator fluid to the top with the cap off, turned on my car squeezed the top radiator hose and saw all the air bubbles escape did this for 5 mins until the car reached normal operating temp. i had to add fluid once or twice but when i was done i had to barely add any at all, but i re-opened the cap and addded so more again, is that ok or do i have to re-do it now?

That's pretty much it. Just make sure the car warmed up enough for the thermostat to open, squeeze the top hose to get rid of the air and call it a day.

if the thermostat didnt open the car wouldnt operate at normal temp. but a sure fire way to test it is to pull it out and put it in hot watter and see if it opens
