alpine SPS-170A speakers
they are decent, but if you ante up about $40 more, you can grab a set of components based on that speaker cast......main advantage is that you can bring the sound stage up a little more for a more quality sound....
i'll assume that if you're looking into those speakers you're not a huge audiophile (like me, i'm not much of an audiophile myself, i just like decent sound quality) but i'd strongly recommend getting the type-s component set instead....

about $120 shipped on ebay

i have them, they are decent. they are clear and will hold power, but not much bass at all. i expected more from them but u get what you pay for. i suggest going with the components
i just picked up a set today. they were a big disappointment. the bass totally sucks ballz. if you have your bass up, the speakers sound all staticy
(if you arent already) try amping them if you have one, or if you plan on getting an Amp, keep them until you try it sufficiently powered, My kenwood Excelon speakers were power hungry.. just a little too much for a headunit only power supply... added an amp, and they worked magically.. huge difference in every characteristic..
well dont waste money on an amp if you werent gonna amp it up eventually... and dont get an amp just for them, pick the amp you want for the finished project... then go from there, if you can get better ones, go for it
