new ball joint bought/rented pressing tool need help
hey ppls i have a 93 civic hatch and i just bought a new lower ball joint for the passenger side cause it was mushroomed. I rented the ball joint press from autozone but dont have a clue on how to use it. Can some1 help me out on this one?

The following is done when knuckle is in a vise.
Removal-remove circlip with snap ring pliers, pull off dust shield, use a bfh to remove the ball joint.
Install-That press works like a c-clamp. One of the three rings (below bolt in pic) goes on the bottom of your knuckle. The other two pieces (bottom left/right in pic) one goes on the top and the other goes on the bottom. The bottom one will stop the press from sliding around and the upper one acts as a diaphram when you're pressing it in. Clean up the new balljoint and the mounting hole with sandcloth and then apply grease before the new ball joint is installed.
