the clutch engages when the pedal is almost all the way out but i think thats cause my clutch is worn and needs replacement.

the seal inside the master cyl is bad. rubber o rings/seals/gaskets wear out over time due to surrounding elements, extreme heat/cold/pressure/corrosion ect. Its leaking brake fluid so it should be replaced.
does your clutch have less pressure behind it now? meaning, is it easier to push in? if it is then there is probably air in your system due to air taking the place of the leaking clutch fluid..
Replace your clutch MC. The thick black like grease is from all the rubber & plastic
parts that are being melted by the brake fluid. A new one isn't very expensive,
and it's really easy to install. Remove, Replace, Blead Fluid, Done. And wash all
the areas with soap & water, that the fluid has gotten on.
