Default frame bent!!!

i've got a '91 crx with a jdm swap and ran into some bad news the night before last. I wasn't paying attention and ran over 7" curb. My frame and cross member are now bent. I need some advice, would it be worth it to fix the rex? Would I be better off buying a newer honda/acura? Has anyone ever fixed a bent frame and had problems? All advice or info. is appreciated?

Well first of all you have no frame its a unibody.
Which crossmember was ruined? the front or rear?
Anything on a unibody can be repaired its just up to you if its worth it, bring it in for a estimate and then find a body man to do it on the side for half cos if its still worth it.
Its hard for me to say its worth it or not without seeing it in person.

It's the front cross member. I hit the curb at like 25mph. I just wondered if I got my car fixed if later on down the road my car could screw back up. I always heard that if you bent or break your frame (or unibody) that you shouldn't hassle with it.

The junk car you see in my sig had the same **** happen to it. The estimate to fix it was 300.00 at a body shop. I think they quoted me 6 hours on a frame machine. So it really shouldnt cost a whole lot to have it taken care of if you want to keep it..

If you plan on having it fixed, make sure you take it to a GOOD frame/body guy. I did that same thing to my wife's '89 Civic Si, and it didn't just take out the crossmember - it bent the whole chassis, diagonally. I could put the car on 4 jack stands set at the same height, and I could rock it back and forth diagonally, about 2".

Once I started looking a bit closer at the car, I found old accident damage and more rust than I wanted to tackle. I stripped the car and crushed the shell, but only after my wife took off to go to the store in it (after I'd curbed it already), and didn't realize I had the battery charger on and the hood wasn't closed. Can't really put that one completely on her - it was dark out and a black car, so I can *kinda* see how she wouldn't notice... Anyway, she hit about 50mph, the hood flew up, folded over the roof, and smashed the windshield. I'm glad I wasn't there to see it, or driving when it happened - it'd probably scare the whee outta me!
