Default My new transmission

So yesterday, halfway through a large Bruchi's steak sandwich (lunch time obviously), I have some dirty dude waltz into my office and say "I've got a tranny for George." I'm like, "**** yea." Having taken Wed night and Thur off from work so I could swap in my new transmission.

Eager to get back to the other half of my cheese steak, I pay the man, pop my hatch, and he tells me he'll close it and be on his way. This being trusting of me, this being me hungry (vulnerable).

Late afternoon I think to myself, I didn't even look at the transmission. I wonder what all came with it. During a quick break, I run out to look and boy was I happy. Came with good mounts, it was clean, came with a speed sensor (which I needed) and only cost me $229.

Then it hit's me, it has an electric speed sensor. My car has a mechanical sensor (cable). Thinking, well, I know atleast the JDM SiR's came with electric speed sensors. Maybe that was it. I turn it over, and notice it also has a hydraulic clutch. Again, mine is cable. Starter location, different than mine...

Goddamnit they sent me a damn CRV TRANNY!!! AAAAHHHH!!!

As cool as this would be if I had a B16 laying in my garage. But I don't. I have a D16 with blown rings! ****... now the dilema. Suck it up and spring for the B16 (doing taxes this weekend). Or call Foreign Engines (where I got my ZC motor and the tranny) back and tell them to send me the right damn transmission. I'm gonna think about it after I do my taxes this weekend...

You do know that trans will not work on a b16 either right, you make it seem like you want a b16 just because you have this trans.

Would you tards please read his sig before posting idiocy? He has an awd civic already. He can use the b20 tranny on a b16, and theoretically keep his awd...

Will that work though? And how reliable?

Honda Tuning put a CRV drivtrain underneath and Integra, and with a mildly built (correct me if I'm wrong) GSR motor, they fucked it up. The stock system leaves MUCH to be desired...but it's a start.

It could be done reliably, but it might take some $$ to do it right

thats wierd , in the first picture, someone apparently wrote 'SEP' then followed by the 'd16'....either they are retarded or they mistakenly did that ...

As much fun as it would be to keep the tranny, and go for the OBD-0 B16, I'm not going to.

This car is suposed to just be my commuter. The original D16 that was in there had rings that were blown to ****. Then the clutch disk literally exploded. I opted to spend the extra $100 for the ZC as a replacement. And went with an EX disk and plate for clutch replacement (also bought new throw out bearing for 4wd tranny).

All in all I'm in the car less than $300 (thats for drivetrain, wheels, stereo, everything) and don't really wanna go and drop the extra money on the B16 conversion (which, trust me, I could do very inexpensively... just a matter of time off work). This is a point A to point B car for me that absolutely rocks under the conditions.

Basically, I'm working on finding a good EF shell so I can start my Grass Roots Motorsports $2006 challenge, and would rather just concentrate on just one headache.

I'll post pics of the tranny swap, once I get the right one.
