Default Windshield Washer Trouble

A few days ago both my front and rear window washers stopped working. The day I noticed it, nothing was spraying out. Later that same day I tried again and it barely sprayed, but within a few seconds was spraying like normal. It has not worked since then. I do not hear the pumps turn on at all. I think it would be pretty odd that both pumps went out on the same day. I checked the fuse and it shows as being the same fuse as the wipers and sunroof, which both work fine. I checked both pumps and they are still both plugged in. Anyone have any advice?

Thanks in advance!
Matt

if there is waterin the tank or if it is actually cold enough to get the washerfuid to its freezing point .. it will infact do that. freeze the liquid in the tank and the fluid thats in the pump.

i would first check power at the pumps just to make sure you have it.. pull the connector off the pump and test probe it. there is just a simple power and ground wires to the system. have someone turn the washer on and see if theres power/ground there.

if your power and ground is good. pull the pump out of the bottle, run it under hot water for a couple minutes. run hot water through the bottle untill all frozen fluid is gone. and then plug the pump in and see if it works. if it works now then fill it up with fluid that wont freeze. if the pump doesnt turn on then its bad.

try that much and come back with any more questions

but im gonna guess its just frozen liquid.

It has been very cold lately. Wouldent you still hear the pumps if it was frozen though? I am going to check them to see if they are getting any power.

Thanks

well if the water in the pump is frozen then obviously no you wouldnt hear it. it wouldnt move becuase the frozen water is keeping the fins from moving.
