Should i do intake manifold with throttle body or is it pointless without cams???

what are your plans/goals for the car, NA? Boost? eventually you'll need to get a new IM to give you better flow.. so might as well

 

i also am looking into getting a intake manifold and have found about 3, skunk2,OBX,and edelbrock. I really want the skunk2 but heard it affects emissions and i have to pass emissions so wanted to see if anyone knew how much it effected it. Also is OBX a good company? heard their manifold was a knock off version of the skunk2, is this true? thnx

 

blox has a knock off of the skunk2. Intake manifolds are a little pointless without any cams. the manifold allows more air in and if there arent cams to open it up then its sorta pointless. with cams though it would be a good mod.

 

well is the blox just as good as the skunk2? its a lil cheaper than the skunk2 but i know skunk2 is a honda god company the edelbrock manifolds are really expensive so im gonna stay away from them. Also on the skunk2 website it says the boost in power will be about 15hp so with cams itll really make a difference

 

so pretty much i shoudlnt even bother doing Skunk 2 intake manifold with Eddlbrock Throttle Body unless i do cams?? i have a 98 integra Ls which cams would be good for my car??

where could i find crower cams?? and are they for a 98 LS

 

they are around 350 on ebay but you will also need springs and retainers which run about 300. they are for a ls turbo but will work on non turbo

 

according to the skunk2 site, the intake manifold is "CARB EO-pending". their site also says "copyright 2002". the ebay vendors say that it is 50 state legal. like this one. so i'd say give skunk2 a call and clear it up. then get it or don't. its the one i want too, and being CARB legal is obviously important to me. let us know what you find out.

 

look around honda-tech for crower cams and springs. i got my 403's with valve springs and retainers for $575

 

I have a skunk2 intake manifold and it sounds great but i had to run alot of hoses so that i would not get check engine lights (idle control sensor and i think it was emissions sensor)


o yea wit my intake manifold i got a sticker that says its legal in cali so im sure it is 50 state legal
