best thing to do is break it in and try. that way you know when you are redlining. because knowing and doing are 2 different things.

what is done to your car? unless you are running boost, you aren't going to be able to accelerate in 6th gear...shifting from top speed in 5th to 6th will cause you to slow down
as an 02 owner, my car can hit 148 in 5th and now that i'm turboed, it will hit 178 in 6th...whether or not i'm stupid enough to ever try this, i don't know

I've hit 155 and was in 6th and still had room to go too.

modifications? year?
the stock gearing mated with stock power on a type s doesn't allowe further acceleration in 6th on a flat surface...if you top out 5th and shift to 6th, you will lose speed...there are lots of vids on this and i tried it myself a long long time ago

02 rsx Type s. at the time I had a injen short ram and Type R catback exhuast. I got the 1st rsx s off the lot so maybe the ecus are programmed differently. because I think mine is a A1. They have alot of revisions on the ECU. But now I have a Mugen airbox and ITR header and exhuast. I know I can hit it now for sure and maybe 160 mph
also notice that the 6th gear on a DC5 is not far away from 5th. if the gearing dropped the rpm really low I would understand that it will not hit that high of a speed. but looking at the gears it sounds right to me. Another thing is I was on stock wheels so the mph was acurate.
Not tryin to get off topic or anything but i got a EP3 with a six speed tranny from a DC5 and in 5th gear i hit 120 but never got a chance to shift to 6 cause of other cars. I only did it once and havent gotten a chance to get back on it yet.
azn umm what u mean A1? all our ECU's are PRB's..what A1? there was diff revisions of the ECU but it comes down to that in 6th gear, there's not enuf power to keep you accelerating. top speed is achieved in 5th gear unless you're really boosted.
syr azn but i call BS on this.

I have to agree with DC5 sleeper I hit 145 in sixth gear, still pulling... just had to let off, my exit was coming up. Also, I dont have any modifications other than poly motor mount insterts and a stage 1 clutch.
