o2 senser without cat Help check engine light is annoying me
Here is my set up I'm running a b18c(r) jdm in my 96 cx hatch. When I bought my car it had the stock d16. Before the guy sold it to me it was d16 turbo but he took the turbo off, so i didn't know before i bought it. Anyways it had no cat it had a glass pack, risenator, cherry bomb what ever you want to call it. It never threw a code until i changed the engine. I changed the wiring harness to a 96 ex harness and every thing plugged in and every thing worked. now i throw the o2 senor code the one that goes in the cat.
Here is my question?
Can I put in the o2 sensor in without a cat without getting a code? I mean putting a hole in front of or behind the glass pack. Or what do you guys think I should do?
Because that check engine light is annoying me. And please don't help me like my buddy by telling me to take out the little light blub for the check engine.
Thanks for Any Help

where could i get that bung and any one else have any help i thinking about a simulator for the o2 is that good
you could have a bad o2 sensor or a bad cat... i still have this problem... but it is my secondary o2 throwing a code... take ur o2 sensor off and torch the **** with a flame... that should clean it up a little...

yea great, now you won't ever know if you're engine is running in limp mode, etc.
you need to either get a new cat with an 02 sensor bung or an 02 simulater to get rid of the CEL. it's the correct way to solve the problem, unless you convert to obd1

run a chipped p28 ecu, use a obd2a-> obd1 ecu jumper harness. obd1 ecus don't look for the 2nd o2 sensor
