Default zex 2001 Prelude??

i'm getting a zex dry kit this friday with a purge and gauge. I was wondering what is the highest possible shot with just colder plugs and stock timing, and what plugs i should go with. I was told NGK BKR7Es. My mods are just intake and exhaust.

If you decided to pull timing, how would you go about doing it?

Zex is not true wheel hp. I would do a 65 shot with a 5th gen. Because you have nothing to adjust timing with just to be on the safe side. Unless you have a sunco thats carries 100 octane and will run it all the time. Or you could go for power and say **** it like I did. Spray the **** out of it but thats on you. Just my 2cents

Yes, unfortunately, that is BS. You cannot adjust the timing on an OBDII car without some sort of aftermarket device. An MSD unit, like you mentioned above, would be a fine choice.

ran it with a 75 pill tonight and plugs that are a step colder than bkr7es. runs like a bat out of hell. never really got the bottle over 800psi as i don't have a heater. no signs of any problems. pulled the plugs after 2 sprays and no bad signs so it is looking pretty good. I'll keep yall updated.

i would say a 75 at 800 psi on a zex kit would be about a extra 50 hp at the wheels.

run Zex plugs, they are designed to work with their products and no gapping is needed.
I have them on my CRX, swapped my iridiums for em, I love em.
we sell the zex plugs at my work for $40 a set, so they are cheaper than iridiums, and worked better for me.

my car actually runs better with the colder plugs. It seems to have more torque, and my idle hasen't been affected at all. even with cold starts.

Zex plugs are knows for fouling out and breaking electrodes. I would reccomend running ngk 7's either E or F's. Just my 2cents

Actually thats what they are made for. Honda offers 7F's plugs for extreem driving conditions. But not all dealers have them in stock. I know we are like the only dealer that has them instock in my area. When I used to spray I would change them out after a race just to be on the safe side. Jason hunt also runs same plugs and changes his after each event. I have them in my daily driver for over year, same set works good for me . Just my 2cents

i'd say that you need to stick to the bk7res, or i use the bcpr7es, but mine is turbocharged.

i seriously doubt that you need to go colder than a 7 though. i think i heard somewhere that every 100hp you make over factory needs a bump to a colder plug, so with just an extra 50hp, i doubt you need to go all the way to an 8. Like i said, i use 7's and i made 266whp.

If your car is shooting soot and back firing its not because of spark plugs its in the tune. Or worn out motor or combination of both.

Nitrous is not dangerous IF you know how to use it corretly IMO
