Default Removing cat, a few quesitons

Before you ask, yes I searched, there is no thread that quite fits my question. I am replacing my cat with a test pipe and then also putting on a greddy evo2(probably this weekend). I bought a casperselectronics o2 simulator and there is a problem, they say it will not work with my test pipe, that i need a "certified aftermarket component", and that no o2 sim out there will help me. If this is the case, what is there o2 sim even good for if not to remove the cel? Also, if the o2 sim does not work, and I send it back for my refund, will having a cel be a problem, Ive heard secondary o2 sensors having a cel do not put you in limp mode. if this is the case I would not mind riding with a cel(other than i wouldnt know when the cel was on jsut for the test pipe or whether something else is wrong). And if the casperselectonics o2 sim doesnt work, what can I do? Also, i live in nebraska, no emmissions tests.

They probably need to say that so they won't get into trouble with the EPA or who ever else cares. Also from what I understand, the casper unit will turn off the light on the cel, but that's it. It doesn't fool your computer into thinking everything is working fine. But like you said, not using your secondary o2 won't put you into limp mode. If you don't have any emmissions testing, you should be okay.

I kinda figured maybe they would say that because of epa stuff. Ill try the o2 sim and see, if it doesnt remove the cel, then ill send it back, get a refund, and not worry about the cel from the 2ndary o2 sim for awhile. Ive heard a cel can disable vtec as well, this is not the case in the case of the 2ndary o2 sim cel is it? THanks alot for the help man!

The secondary o2 CEL will not cause vtec to be inactive.

A local guy bought a test pipe and instead of having the 02 socket at the rear the guys installed it at the front of the test pipe like right after where it connects to the header and the CEL went off. You might consider trying that.
