Advance Design shocks -- Does anyone have these?
You've probably seen the link off the Ground-Control website at one time or another. http://www.advance-design.com
Does anyone own these or have any reliable information about them? It strikes me as a quality product, but what do I know...

i would talk to them and ask them for refrences to people who use their product, if they are a quality product they shouldn't hesitate to give you that information
I know of at lease three cars in the San Francisco that use them and do well. In fact the AutoX National Champion in SM used a BMW M3 with Advanced Design coilovers, and I beleive Vic Sias National Champion BSP uses them as well. So if these guys are winning national championships on them then I guess they must be good.
I have them on my EG. I haven't gotten them on track yet, so I haven't formulated a real opinion on them yet, but I can tell you that their build quailty is incredible... really nice short-bodied dampers. Mated to Eibach ERS springs.
Jay's got a good reputation in the industry.

A local low-key chassis-engineer guy (he does that on the side, he works for an aerospace company as his day job) used them on an older Supra (like, not the latest body style, the one before it) Hill Climb car, and always spoke very well of them. He couldn't speak of reliability, because he revalved them so often.
I kind of get the impression that if you have time and means to tune them, they're probably the best thing you can get without going to something that's $700+ per shock like a Penske or a JRZ.
I'd also imagine they've got some good data on civics and integras so you wouldn't have to do too much of your own tuning to get them right.
I've heard bad stuff from two places. First was Greg Fordahl (proprieter of Fordahl Motorsports, chassis engineer for the ALMS Hiskey/Pobst porsche), who said they had seal problems, but I heard that from him probably close to two years ago, and his information was old when he told me that. And he made reference that they were working on it. So I'm sure they've got that sorted out by now.
The other bad story was from John Vasos at Acura of Brookfield. They tried to get them for their NSX, and Ground Control just kept messing up. Not just damping, but also fitment and stuff. After two or three failures, they just gave up and got the Comptech Pro suspension for $4300 based on Koni race shocks, and were totally pleased with it.
Again, for civics and integras, I'm sure they've got their act together much better than for the NSX.

Thanks guys...
SpiceyRice: Did you choose the 650/700 setup or was that on their recommendation? Hope you can get it to the track soon... seems a bit punishing for a street car.
