ok i just put some coilovers on my brothers 2001 eclipse. i put everything on right except the front is weired, the spring is almost fully compressed and the coils are almost touching each other, and do when i hit a bump or something. i just think the spring rate is too soft. what do you think?

are you putting coils made for a much lighter car on his much heavier car?
how do you have it set? sleammed (adjuster at the bottom) or somewhere else?

 

i forgot there was a suspension forum, and i know its the wrong site, im just talking about coilovers in general. they are set to lower it about an inch, an inch down on the perch. the box says eclipse 2001-whatever but he got them off ebay thats why im thinking.
is there a mitsu. site i can ask this on?

 

what does the coilover look like?

 

the front just looks like some for my crx or jus like honda ones. same size and ****. the rears are long and the perch is really long, it takes place of the stock perches on the shock.

 

what kind of coils are they?

 

theres not even a name, theyre just ebay cheapos.
