Default E-Boost = gear dependent boost?

I have been reading the specs on this boost controller from Australia with some interest. It is a bit expensive, but has a lot of features most boost controllers lack. As one example, it functions as a boost gauge, as well as a controller. another feature is an external trigger that can fire water injection or an intercooler sprayer at a pre-set boost level. It also lets you set the "gate pressure" or the point where the controller starts to bleed off, so you can spool faster.

Here is a link : http://www.turbosmart.com.au/

So, here is my question. The specs say you can set up to three boost levels and that they can be externally triggered. This made me wonder if it could be used to run gear-dependent boost (a big plus on a beefy fwd car on the street). Has anyone installed this, and if so, have you figured out how to trigger it to switch boost between gears?

well i just read the website and the way i comprehended it is that you can have 3 seperate boost settings that are independent of each other. kind of like the apex avc-r has it to where you can set up 2 different boost setting. the e-boost does however have gear dependent boost.

It says they can be externally selected.

Yes, it determines what gear you are in by whating the rpm and vehicle speed.

Don't care about the AVCR; asking about the E-boost.

Has anyone run it wired for gear-dependant boost?

yeah, i have mine wired in for gear dependent. I rigged up external grounding switchs. Pretty easy to do, I love the E-Boost. It is so easy to use and program.

Kewl. That is what I was looking for. What did you do for inputs? Is there a factory ECU or harness output you used or did you need to rig micro switches?

Thanks.

yeah i just rigged micro switches, set up is real easy. I mean the e-boost only has 3 buttons on it, so i had everything installed and tuned in under 1 hour. My girlfriend knows how to use the E-boost for pete sake! Plus what is really cool, i have a intercooler water spraying hooked up using the eboost.
