Does the car not come with a motor?

If so, I'd rather build a GS-R motor rather than go through the trouble of finding a new one out of a different car.

I drove a friend's Jun III-ed GS-R and it was very fast, even untuned. Smoked my R in a drag race.

If the car you're buying is without a motor, I'd buy a B20 block and slap a B16A head on it. Tune it and call it a day.

Maybe this is not the "correct" forum for you? Try the integra forum, I think they will probably be more useful.

If you've got a perfectly good motor already, it doesn't make sense to buy a new one.

I've always scratched my head at people with GS-Rs and Si Civics that buy ITR motors. Either of those motors are just as good for most applications, if you modify them properly.

Type R motors are more powerful, stock. You can probably get more power out of the GSR for less.

How many forums do you need to post this question in? You would benefit greatly from using the Search function to perform some research on this topic.

Just stay with the B18C1. The more you modify the B18C1 (GS-R) and the B18C5 (Type R) the closer they get to each other. After replacing the valvetrain, pistons, mild P&P, etc, they're basically the same engine.

Turbo the GS-R or even go all motor and you won't regret it. Buying a new engine is just a waste of money if you have a perfectly good B18C1. Unless you have a lot of money and are looking to do something crazy, I wouldn't bother with a swap.

LS engines are DOHC, just not VTEC.
