Just installed some new ground wires... car only starting sometimes?
And all I can say is wow. The car idles smother, it always starts within 2 cranks, even with my weak battery and 15 deg weather. I cant say that I noticed an actuall power increase, but it was worth the $ and time just for the ease of starting the car and for idle sake. I used 4ga. amp wire and ran a new engine ground as well as a new batt. ground. I also ran a new wire to the starter for kicks. All that nice wiring and connectors make the rest of my engine bay look like crap. Overall I would definetly recomend this mod to anybody with a little spare time and an extra $20 laying around. Now, I noticed this before I did the wire swap, sometimes my CEL doesnt come on when I turn the key to the second spot on the ignition and I cant hear the fuel pump prime. Is my main relay going out on me?
just thought Id share my exprience with everyone and see if anyone could give me an idea,
thanks

Yeah, it's probably the solder connections in the main relay cracking. I have this issue most often during the summer or on warm to hot days. You can either replace the main relay [eh..], deal with it [what I'm currently doing], or re-flow solder into the connections on your current relay [best option in my opinion].

Funny, exactly the supplies i have on hand...(4 GA amp wire) Just may do this while i'm on a maintenance kick.
And yes, as far as i know and understand from looking at mine, you can just add some heat (soldering iron) to 're-flow' the solder, as DaX mentioned. Obviously you want to make sure you don't melt them so that they flow together.
I was going to do this to mine, but i happen to have access to a main relay at the time that was working fine, so...

yep, fresh battery treminals, and clean 4 awg running to all the starting components is a great cheap upgrade for ANY car, not just these.
although ours are old, and need it.
