Default Tranny problem please help!

When I was leaving the gas station, I heard a weird sound like something popped or snapped. While driving to my house, I noticed that my car was making a clunking sound. It still drives fine, but I know something is wrong with my transmission. When I got home I decided to drain my mtf and I noticed that I had metal flakes in the mtf (this is the second time I had metal flakes and I changed my mtf about 2 months ago). I noticed that my transmission made a clicking noise when I pushed it awhile ago in Sept. 2004, but I just ignored it. Keep in mind that I do not grind gears maybe only going into reverse, but thats about it.

If anyone can help me out to determine what might possibly be wrong, I will greatly appreciate it. BTW the transmission is a JDM B16 Y1 LSD tranny.

well metal specs in the tranny fluid is in the norm, as long as the flakes are small you should be good

axles are good since they aren't even a year old (dss stage 1 axles) and shifter bushings are energy suspension...here is a picture of the mtf. Usually when I change the mtf it's still clear but the last 2 looked grey with metal flakes.

you might not have enough backlash btween your gears, backlash is the amount of play btween the gears. you might be slowly grinding your gears away. i would rip the tranny apart and check the backlash, also try droppin some lucas oil into your tranny, thicken it up..

I called up gear-speed today and they told me that the clutches in my LSD might be going out, which can cause my mtf to look like that...

that the only thing that could do that, unless the gears are all chopped up (u said no grinds) the LSD is teh only other thing that could do so, i had this happen when i ran a tranny exactly like yours with GM syncromesh...

BTW, that bucket of oil is scary...
