So whats the Highest top speed for your streetable honda and what trany/rpm

I got 155mph at 8165 with a boosted B16 and a Y1 trany (thats what the niddle stopped at) joy of having a UKDM crx.

It's just to get an idea on what trany give the best top end.

I think someone is jealous. Atleast there is a turbo on mine already.

My friend has a ls with basic bolt ons and we did 145mph with around 2k RPM's left. I have the b18b in my civic but the speedo tachs out at 130MPH so I don't know how fast I've been

The roads are better over there, and so are the drivers. We used to do 150+ on the Autobahn all the time. You get used to the speed.

 

8500RPMS ls/vtec turbo- 167mph caculated with 24.5 inch tires(bfg drag radials). with type r tranny. topped out! no more left. ls fifth would go so much higher.

That's all good and fine, but a civic is not designed to cruise at 160 MPH. They're not nearly as stable as an M5, or a 911TT, or a lambo, or a new benz.

 

A Civic isn't designed for any of the things we do to it, but it's still done.

 

LOL so true, and 150 in my integra. I was at i think 5700 or so with an LS tranny

If they only knew back in 91 that guys would be running 9's in unibody civics. Actually I don't think the honda engineers would believe it.

 

i was racing a single turbo supra ON THE HIGHWAY with my b18c del sol. speedo was burried, but i caught a glimpse of the Rpms which was 7900 in 5th. Still pulling ever soo slightly and my rev limiter is 9100. Shut it down at 7900 tho.
So anyhow, how a GSR trans works is, double your RPMs and move a decimal over a few and its your speed. (notice with GSR tranny car does 80mph at 4k rpm, 2.5k rpm at 50mph, ETC in 5th).. BASICALLY, i had my **** doing 158mph plus or minus a little bit....

So in theory, if i could actually get the car to pull all the way to redline of 9100 RPMs in 5th gear. My car would top out at 182 Mph....

Thats what i sort of worked it at.
I've see some of top speed comps that given the right trany and power at top rpm you should be able to pull some very high speeds but thats just on paper.

Also its ture what "B16A Grenade" said about the roads, there good to cruise at 100+ all the time. (not saying i do that)
But I've never been to the USA so i don't know what your roads are like.
