Anyone know if the new slim ps2 will fit gloveboxes?
of course it will... the thing is barely bigger than a DVD case... now you also have that external power adapter, no biggy there.... but you have a problem in where you mount...
blah blah blah... overheating blah blah blah... it gets hot, it does have a fan, but a small one, it is mainly a passively cooled system, so it does get warm/hot to the touch, but I am the only one on the internet ive seen who actually had overheating issues with one game, after playing for several hours, it has not happened since, this included dropped polygons etc, black on screen, clipping, for a few seconds, then it cooled and was fine.
If you are mounting it, make sure that it has spacers on the corners so that the bottom is away from the plastic or whatever your mounting on, id say, .5 inch should be nice.. same with the sides, and about 2 inches in front and behind it... sounds like a lot, but its tiny, and for the front and rear, im just talking about the air inlet and outlets.. It also has a flip top lid. so factor that in its final placement.
That is all I have to say, just give it some room to breath, be it a cut in the rear of your glovebox where the wires and air outlet are or more... and you will not get actual overheating... just remember it does get warm, but not overheating, so be sure not to give it a situation where its cooling system will not work properly, and really actually overheat.
