Few questions regarding cooling fan
I'm trying to work on my girlfriends 92 civic DX sedan as it is overheating on a regular basis.. She doesn't drive it now until its fixed so I'm trying to hurry up a little bit.. basically the car is always overheating. It will overheat whether its being driven, or just at idle. The fans do NOT come on at any point. I searched here and found that the relay could be a problem, so I'm gonna stop by the junkyard tomorrow and see if I can grab a new one, cuz they dont have them at autozone...
I also want to wire the fans up to turn on with the ignition.. seems like a good idea. How would I go about doing this? Any "how-to" pages around? I have an 80 camaro and a neon r/t so I'm not great with civics yet..
Last thing, we bled the coolant system and a lot of air came out. Closed it back up for a minute, and when we went to bleed it again, air was in the system already again.. ? Someone told me to leave it open/bleeding while the engine is warming up until coolant starts to come out.. is this right? Thanks for any help,
-Dean

Re: Few questions regarding cooling fan (Dean80Z28)
well if your fan isn't coming on then it's definately your relay. My friend tried 2 thermostats and I kept telling him to get the relay well he finally went to the dealer and bought one. I would get a new one from honda they're not that expensive. After you put the new relay in and if you still wanna wire it up with your ignition I would put a toggle switch to where you can still turn it on and off whenever it gets hot, I wouldn't do that if your relay works I'd just let the car take care of it.
