Default "highflow CAT" from eBay (already searched)

ok....i've searched and searched until my eyes bled....i have yet to find any commentary from anyone using these in a 5th gen Lude....tho i have found that the Civic wusses prefer the Carsound brand

so here's my question: what are your experiences with these products?

to prevent needless comments:
1)i'm only looking for to hear from people with actual experience, not something your Civic/Accord buddy told you 3 years ago....
2)yes, i know it's not a real cat, but merely a test pipe/resonator....
3)there is no testing for emissions here....
4)i have a stock exhaust system, minus the generic fartcan....
5)this isn't an upgrade, it's a replacement (my stock cat took a **** on me)....
6)yes, i'm aware that i'm a newb....

basically i'm looking for installation/maintenance/quality comments....and specs info would also be appreciated....2.25in/2.5out, performance increase, sound, etc

Its just a resonator. Dont worry about it. The main thing you should look into is how big is the opening for the header? How big is the flange for the exhaust? Personally i rather go with test pipes compared to cats so thats my 2 cents for ya. Theyre also resonated to help wtih the rasp.

But you have an OBDI car, not OBDII like ours, so it would work fine.

I have mine (see my thread on the "Megan" header I just bought, there is a pic. of the test-pipe as well there), and it is a resonated test pipe, not a high-flow cat. It is completely hollow, with the resonator cells around the edge.

This means you will throw a CEL for your second O2 sensor (the one that bolts into the cat. itself). You will need to get an O2 sim. like the one KTeller sells to have it bolt on correctly. That is what I'm waiting to buy before I install the unit. If not for that, I would have installed it with the header this past weekend.

i say get a carsound cat.
i have run carsound high flow cats, test pipes and the resonted test pipes called high flow cats.
overall teh best exhaust tone is the carsound cat. it lost a total of 1 hp compared to the other pieces of equipment.
and lastly, who cares if emissions testing doesnt exist there, its still stuff we all end up breathing so why not reduce it?

I have an OBX "cat" on my '01, and it's the best bang for the buck mod I've done. I still have my stock catback, and this thing makes up a ton of power. I've got plans for a 2.5" custom catback, but considering how well this works I'm tempted to stick with the stock exhaust. Ultimately I will install a carsound because big brother is a bit pushy in socal.
