Default obd1 ecu.. switch from auto to manual

i need to convert my p28 from auto to manual.. i pulled up some directions from pgmfi.org and they say to remove 2 resistors and replace one with a jumper wire.. but, ive heard that your supposed to remove a high side switch also or instead of? i just dont want to remove these 2 resistors and find out it didnt work, then have to solder them back in..
thanks

Just remove the resistors and install the jumper. You do not need to remove the high side switches, unless you want them to convert another ECU to VTEC.
