2000 Ex idle problem
fluctuating idle, ideas? I've heard IACV, FAV, TPS, Vaccuum leak, air in cooling system, fuel injectors... which one is it?? or should i have them ALL checked? i know u guys have encountered this before, but on a 5th gen? anyone?? would love and appreciate the help guys/gals!
Have you checked all your vacuum lines?
I am not sure what you are asking. Go check all those things you mentioned beginning with vacuum lines.

sorry i meant to say that i heard those could be the sources of the problem...
i checked vacuum lines...no leaks did a triple check, had three different people, including myself do it.
Still no luck... anyone got more ideas? anything would be appreciated!!!

There is no way no one here will definitively know what is wrong with your car.
You have stated in your initial post what the possible causes could be. CHeck them out and see...
What more do you want? Want me to look into my crystall ball????

hey if ur crystal ball has the answer
j/p anyways...actually i just wanted to see if people had this problem...and if they did...what was THEIR cause of it, and what did THEY do to fix it.

You don't understand... Half this board probably experienced idle problems at one point in their lives. And the causes were as diversified as the number of people on this planet. This is not how you diagnos car troubles......
You have enumerated the possible causes. Now get some tools and start wrenching. You want probable causes, well here are some.
The engine may be running too hot.
The fuel pressure regulator may be operating at too low of a pressure.
The ignition timing may be set wrong.
There may be some type of ignition problem.
There may be a fault in the computerized engine control system.
The fuel filter may be partially clogged.
The torque converter in the transmission may not be locking at the right time, or it may be slipping.
There may be a vacuum leak.
The engine may have mechanical problems.
The EGR valve may be stuck open.
The drive axles may be loose or worn.
The fuel injectors may be dirty.
Now, get cracking...

Pull the electrical conn off the IACV. On a normal running car if this connector is removed the idle will fluctuate 1200 - 1500. If there is no difference this might be your problem.
on 2000 accords, if the idle starts to flucuate after the engine warms up its normally the cold air valve.
flucuation is cause by the ecu trying to compensate for air to fuel ratio, too much air and the ecu gives the injectors more fuel, but when it sees rpm too high and the vehicle isnt moving it cuts the fuel to the injectors thus causing rpm that goes up and down

What is "cold air valve" same as IACV ?
