this is probably insanely stupid but...awd prelude?
i've heard some people talking about swapping the drivetrain from the CRV or RL (i think its AWD) into the prelude...just wondering if thats anywhere close to possible without tearing the car completely apart and rebuilding it...
i figure the engine will have to be turned sideways, underbody of the car would have to be reworked, new shift linkage/whatever...
just wondering if it would be close to feasable

if you use the crv tranny then the engine would stay in its normal position. addapter plate , solid shift linkage, drive axles, drive shaft, rear differential and rear nuckles would all have to be addresed
the CRV motor is mounted the same way as the prelude?
(never looked under the hood of a CRV before)
would there be any problems with the 1.4" longer wheelbase of the CRV?

like i said, everything would have to be custom , the axles, drive shaft length , rear differential mounting,
if you were serious about it , the fact that the car has a different wheel base souldn't matter.. hell your going to even need to make a b series to h series adapter plate to make the crv tranny work, and you will need a custom tranny side mount

that's a pretty cool idea if you got the money.
anybody ever thought of a rwd prelude?
sorry to jack the thread.

would it still have the problem that i hear CRVs have? namely, the rear wheels only get power when the front wheels start slipping?

rwd would be nice too...except then you'd definitely need to turn the motor around...aside from all the other custom work you'd be doing. sorry for the kinda noob question but since the H22 turns forward under hard revving...if you turned the motor sideways for RWD which way would it turn...or would it not move at all?

gahhh. it's completely custom. and the crv AWD is only when the wheels are slipping.
if you turn the motor sideways it will torque sideways instead, on the same direction of the turning of the crank.
enough of this topic.
