Default Rear disc or drum for drag?

I was thinking of getting a rear disc conversion for my hatch which is a street/strip car not daily driven. I was wondering if I would be better off weight wise keepin the drums or to upgrade to disc . thanks

Drums also have less friction on them as well.

I do not know the weight difference. I think ur fine with what you have, spend the money and time elsewhere.

A few days ago I was thinking of ditching my disks and get a drum setup.
Those rear calipers are always rusting and getting stuck!

0-60 is a big deal on the quarter mile but so is 100+ to 0mph.
stopping does count too on the track... just a thought... i have a rear disc brake conversion and my car weighs in at 1875 without the passenger seat... eg hatch nothing cut.

My car stops fine w/ front brakes only and no brake booster at over 150mph.

Are you using the KensKustom brake master cylinder? If so how do you like it and do you think its streetable on a weekend driver?

No, its not Ken's, I used the stock brake pedal setup, just removed the booster to make room for a hydro clutch pedal and master cylinder.

Nuformz rear spindle mount - free spinning very light comes complete......off the chain. lots of money but worth every penny.

I'm trapping 137 and with the stock CX brakes, it was getting very scary because I couldn't stop in time...

Just a little note. I have a first gen CRX HF with Aluminum drums. There is weight to be saved with those as well.

I have also heard that the rear drums from an Insight are aluminum and can be made to fit the rear of the civics without too much difficulty.
