Default A pic of my hydorlocked bent rod and some new parts...

my #4 rod bent after getting in some water into the cylinder a couple days before new years. as you guys know, water doesn't compress, so the piston naturally made the rod bend from stress. there also was a buncha shavings and shards in my oil as well, probably from the wrist pins and journals. my oil was also black as hell from the mad blow-by and the slappage (is that a word) of the piston and the cylinder wall. sucks to be me, but that just means bigger and better things for me now. insurance didn't cover it as well... have'n a AEM CAI in cali during the rain sucks, especially w/o a bypass, which i take on and off depending. moral of the story is if your using a CAI of any kind, invest in a bypass.

now to the good stuff... well as most of you kno, i was in the market for some p73 pistons because of my bent rod. got the pistons from JHPUSA and rods from the Eagle Rods deal HT is offering in the classifieds. well here are the pics i wanted to show you guys of my new rods and pistons.

Who do you have for insurance? I have 21st century, and since they dont have claim adjusters, they're covering my hydrolocked engine...

Nice crack in the block doesn't hold oil real well...

I have an AEM CAI as well...

Hope all goes well with yours.

I hope you know that eagle rods and stock pistons are not designed to work together

AEM CAI + rain =

I know i hydrolocked in april but lucky for me i didnt bend anything. About 3 hours, 3 oil changes, and 12 sparkplugs later, my car started up again.

Good luck with your rebuild
