Concerned about rod to piston clearance..H22 with Je's and crower rods
Replacing my old je 9.0:1 with some new ones. First thing I noticed is the pistons are redesigned, the inside looks different to the old ones(bought in 2002). When the rods are inserted, there is much less space for the rod to float from side to side on the pin(side clearance). I measured a gap of about .055in clearance with the rod jammed to one side,or about .0275 on each side with the rod center.
Je instruction asks for .05 on each side
Is this a potential problem? if so what should be modified, rod or piston?

I guess the answer would be to call JE. If it specifies a .05 clearance on "each" side then you have an issue.
