Default water/coolant for T25/T28 turbo....

I wanted to know if it is required to run the coolant through T25/T28 turbo? Someone told me that I didn't have to, that I could just plug the holes. Is this correct? Will this effect my turbo?

You don't have to but it is there for a reason. I always say to run them. There is really no reason, except for laziness, not to.

It takes 10 minutes to plumb the water lines, and that will save you from having to do a 60-second cooldown after every time you drive your car. It's up to you.

(Note that the cooldown is only not required when you finish your drive under low load, which is usual)

So basicaly If I set my turbo timer to 60sec I will be fine? That seems allot easier especially if there are no consequences...lol

True, but why not just hook them up?

Some people say that there is a possibility of over heating with the lines. On a stock 1.6, I don't wanna take that chance. Suggestions?

I'm sure you'd get more life out of it with the water hooked up.

Are you saying that is not likely? I guess it's not a big deal to add them, was just told it's basically a waste. *shrug*

I have never hooked them up and never had a problem. I have done about 10 junkyard turbos w/o water (and more new turbos). All going strong, some for years now.

I have never heard of overheating from using them. I really doubt that its true. I have heard of having a messy looking engine bay and extra places for leaks but that could be a rumor too

I run water lines on all my turbos if they come with it. It is just dumb not too, I am not saying that it helps or hurts anything by running and not running them. I just think if it is built for water, hook them up.
