Default What would happen if I race on a bad throw out bearing?

My throw out bearing has just started to make a little noise and I wanted to know what damage I can do or what would happen if I raced (auto-X) on it next weekend. I already have ordered a new clutch however it will not be here in time to install and break in. I do not think anything major will happen but just wanted some advise.

Thats what im thinkin, its not loud at all right now, and since I plan to change the clutch next week. Any damage I do will not matter, I just do not want my clutch to blow up or break to a point where I could not drive home.

I'd be afraid of not making it home, too, but that's pretty much the case any time you autocross a daily-driver. At any time, SOMETHING can break and leave you stranded. I wouldn't be too concerned about the throwout bearing. If it did go out on you, I think the worst that would happen is that it would disable the car - it shouldn't really destroy the tranny or anything.

Race on!

If you're in the SA/Austin area, we'll help you get home.
